Uri Windt was a former trade union official of Actors Equity, adviser to the NSW Deputy Premier, a corporate regulator of non-bank financial institutions. Is engaged in property development and property management. Currently the publisher of The Jewish Independent (www.thejewishindependent.com.au)

Non-Jewish communal roles included the co-founding of Filling the Gap which recruited volunteer dentist to rural/regional Aboriginal Medical Services, Chair of MTC Inc. and Director of Job Futures which assisted the long-term unemployed.

Jewish communal roles have included Honorary Secretary of the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies, Director of Shalom Institute and Board of Limmud Oz (Sydney). Currently co-chair of the International Advisory Board EcoPeace ME (www.ecopeaceme.org )
