Ofer Shelah is Director of the “Israel’s National Security Policy” research programme at INSS and The Alice and Paul Baker Distinguished Research Fellow. He holds a B.A. in economics and English from Tel Aviv University, and an MFA in English and creative writing from New York University.
Ofer was a senior military and political columnist for Israel's leading newspapers and TV channels hosting investigative documentaries.
He served in the Knesset for the Yesh Atid party 2013, chairing the party faction. He was a member of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, Finance Committee and chaired the Special Committee on the COVID-19 Crisis and the Knesset State Control Committee.
He has published eight books, four of them on Israeli security-related issues.
