Jonathan Rynhold is a professor in the department of Political Studies at Bar-Ilan University in Israel, having served as head of department from 2021 until October 2025. He is also the academic director of the Jonathan Sacks Institute, and a senior researcher at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies, both at Bar-Ilan University.

Jonathan’s research focuses on US-Israeli relations. His book entitled The Arab-Israeli Conflict in American Political Culture, published by Cambridge University Press, won the Israeli Association for Political Science annual book prize.

Between 2005-2010, Prof. Rynhold, took a leading role in combatting the academic boycott of Israel.
