Hassan Towafra is a policy expert and former Head of the Authority for the Economic Development of Arab Society at Israel’s Ministry for Social Equality. Appointed in 2020, he led the approval and implementation of Government Resolution 550, a five-year, 30-billion-NIS plan to reduce socio-economic gaps through investments in education, employment, health, infrastructure, and economic development. Previously, he served as Deputy Director at the Government Companies Authority and held senior roles at KPMG and the Israel Securities Authority. He lectures in economics and accounting, holds degrees from the Hebrew University, and is a Maoz and Wexner Fellow.
