Gil is the CEO of the Mitvim Institute, an Israel-based think tank promoting Israeli–Palestinian peace, Israel’s regional integration, and a diplomatic shift in Israel’s strategic policy.
Previously, he served as an expert at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) in Berlin and as a senior foreign policy analyst at the Reut Institute for Strategic Thinking. He is the co-founder of the Techne Initiative, which empowers members of the Middle Eastern diaspora in Europe to serve as foreign policy advisers.
Gil is an adjunct faculty member at the Hertie School in Berlin, where he lectures on Middle East international politics. He holds a PhD in International Relations from Freie Universität Berlin and was a Fox Fellow at Yale University’s MacMillan Center. He is also a member of the Israeli–Arab Forum of the Atkin Foundation in London.
