Prof. Sarab Abu-Rabia-Queder is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where she also serves as Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion. Her research examines the mechanisms of control, racialization, and marginalization affecting minority groups, particularly in the fields of higher education, employment, and family life.

She has published extensively in leading academic journals and has received several competitive research grants and scholarly awards for her work centering marginalized women’s voices. In 2019, she was selected as “Sociologist of the Month” by the journal Current Sociology (July issue).

In May 2024, she received an honorary doctorate from the Weizmann Institute of Science in recognition of her efforts to advance epistemic justice for minority groups. In 2026, she was awarded the Honorary Fellow Award from Afeka Academic College of Engineering for her contributions to strengthening equal opportunities, belonging, and excellence in academia and the public sphere.

Alongside her academic work, Prof. Abu-Rabia-Queder is a feminist activist. She serves on the boards of several NGOs and academic committees. Her public engagement focuses on advancing minority’s access to higher education, improving employment opportunities, and fostering dialogue between Arab and Jewish students.
