Dr. Duffield spent the first half of her career working as a nutritionist for various different humanitarian agencies. More recently, she have been vice chair of Save the Children UK, chair of Weizmann UK and on various committees/boards of the Weizmann Institute in Israel. She is a trustee of the Clore Israel Foundation.
