Sally Gottesman is the Chair of Encounter and serves on the Board of The New Israel Fund (where ages ago she was NIF’s first NY/Tri-State Regional Director.) As co-founder and former Chair of Moving Traditions, she helped reimagine Jewish teen engagement through a feminist perspective. Sally also co-founded Ritualwell.org, a leading resource for contemporary Jewish ritual, and was the first employee of the Israel Women’s Network in Jerusalem. A former consultant at KPMG, she brings strong strategic expertise to all her endeavors. After her daughter’s NF1 diagnosis, she co-founded the pioneering Neurofibromatosis Research Acceleration Program (NTAP) at Johns Hopkins University. Sally holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MBA from Yale University, and lives in New York City with her three teenage children.
