Gideon Stein serves as President of The Moriah Fund, a private family foundation, and Chairman of Civic News Company, the nation's leading nonprofit news organization with education, public health, and voting-focused sites spanning more than a dozen cities. He sits on the board of the Strategic Victory Fund, the political arm of the Democracy Alliance and Committee on States, which directs over $200 million in strategic political investments during election cycles.

Beyond his foundation leadership, Gideon manages his family's comprehensive investment, philanthropic, and political portfolios. Following the 2020 murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, he co-founded and provided seed funding for Black Voices for Black Justice, a dedicated racial justice fund.

Gideon brings over two decades of entrepreneurial experience across education technology and civic innovation. As Founder and CEO, he built LightSail Education into a leading adaptive reading platform for K-12 students before its acquisition by an international private equity firm. He previously co-founded Future Is Now Schools, pioneering school turnaround strategies and union reform initiatives, and founded Omnipod, a corporate messaging and file-sharing platform that was acquired by MessageLabs and subsequently Symantec.

His career reflects a consistent focus on leveraging technology and strategic investment to advance educational equity, democratic participation, and social justice.
